We were delighted to once again be Community Partners with
BFI FLARE LGBT film festival – Wednesday 21 March to Sunday 1 April 2018

As promised, here are our favourites…

BBZBBZ (club night) – Friday 23 March
Party the night away to music of black origin from Ballroom, Afro beats and Funk to SA house, Grime and Soul.

RISE (free workshop) – Friday 23 March
Elevating the narratives of QTIPOC (queer, transgender and intersex people of colour) characters, this event will provide a platform to examine the importance of inclusion, both on and off screen, whilst inspiring a generation of directors, screenwriters, filmmakers and producers to develop work which best reflects their stories.

Love ScottLOVE, SCOTT – Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 March
A sensitive and richly moving portrait of a young man left paralysed after a homophobic attack.

TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS – Thursday 22 & Saturday 24 March
After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a transgender person decides to undertake a conscious death.

STUMPED – Wednesday 28 & Friday 30 March
A comedian prevails over the loss of his limbs with humour and revolutionary medicine.

Southern PrideSOUTHERN PRIDE – Friday 30 & Saturday 31 March
A timely documentary about two towns in Mississippi organising Pride events in Trump’s America.

THE PRINCE FARAH SHOW (club night) – Friday 30 March
Strut your funky stuff to 1970s disco inspired by the film Antonio Lopez 1970: Fashion, Sex, Disco.

QUIET HEROES – Thursday 29 & Saturday 31 March
A portrait of the brave lesbian couple who, in the 1980s, were the only doctors in Utah treating AIDS patients.

A Deal with the UniverseA DEAL WITH THE UNIVERSE – Monday 26, Wednesday 28 & Saturday 31 March
The debut documentary from Jason Barker tells the inspiring tale of a very different kind of pregnancy.
